On a day where we as instructors of Blue Guru found the time to go more exploring around the local divesites we came across a sad event.
On koh Pling Yai - West we found a large fishing net that reached for several meters.
Richard followed the net up and found the unfortunate hawksbill Turtle stuck in the net. Snippy joined Richard and together they tried to free it, which unfortunately was not succesfull
the Dive against debris team
On the global Beach and Reef Cleanup day, September 15 2012, Aquanauts Instructors and Interns participated in the project Aware - Month Against Debris. and were even accompanied by the customers of that day!
For this Aquanauts instructors Amy and Daniel (Snippy) selected “Shark Point” as the place for their cleanup. Shark Point is the divesite on Koh Larn on the North Side, near Koh Sak.
As this location is not dived on a lot by any diveshops and Aquanauts noticed debris there, it was an easy pick.
